* Rock County Fair schedule: Brown County and Rock County 4-H Horse Show, 8 a.m. Deadline for setting up open class booths, 10 a.m. Open horse show, 2 p.m. Vehicles are asked to be kept off Main Street starting at 4 p.m. Line up for the fair parade, 4:30 p.m. Fair Parade, 5:30 p.m. Free barbecue, 6 p.m. Free night events, 6:30 p.m. Kids tractor pull, 7 p.m. Dance with the James Lee Band, 9 p.m.

* Driver’s license exams are given in the Brown County Courthouse at Ainsworth from 8:15 a.m. until noon and from 1 until 4:30 p.m.

* The Brown County Historical Society Coleman House Museum in Ainsworth is open from 1 until 4 p.m.

* A benefit potluck supper and silent auction is scheduled for 5 p.m. in Uncle Buck's Lodge at Brewster. Those attending are asked to bring a covered dish and a lawn chair. Music will be played from 7 until 10 p.m. Proceeds from the event will benefit the late Billy Huffman, who recently lost his battle with cancer.

* Nebraska 43rd District State Sen. Al Davis was scheduled to host town hall meetings at Valentine and Ainsworth today. However, due to illness, those town hall meetings have been cancelled.

* The Ainsworth Golf Course serves rib-eye and New York strip steaks from 6 until 8 p.m. in the clubhouse.

* Bassett Meadow View Club activity night, 7 p.m.

* Rock County Fair schedule: Kids fishing tournament at the city pond for kindergarten through sixth-graders, 8:30 a.m. Fishing awards presented at 11:30 a.m. Antique tractor pull weigh-in, 9 a.m. Pull time, 11 a.m. Dennis Roggasch Memorial Horseshoe Tournament, 1 p.m. Demolition derby, 6 p.m. Power wheels derby for kids.
