* A memorial service for George K. Palmer, 82, of Long Pine, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 2, in the New Hope Community Church of Springview with inurnment to be held at a later date on the Palmer Ranch near Long Pine. George Palmer died Monday, March 30, in the Brown County Hospital. There will be no visitation. Survivors include his wife Dorie Palmer of Long Pine; children Corey Palmer and wife Molly of Long Pine, Cheyenne Heath and husband Brett of Colome, S.D., and Catherine Schreur and husband Nate of Sanborn, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Jim West died March 25 at his home near Johnstown. He was a 1959 graduate of Ainsworth High School. Gloria Burkinshaw died Tuesday, March 3, in the Heritage of Bel Air Nursing Home at Norfolk. She was a 1946 Long Pine High School graduate.
