He has helped to plan and raise funds for the new lower press box that you see being used today and did a large amount of the work to construct it. He has solely planned and raised funds for the new Finish Lynx Timing System. Along with his wife, he has personally paid for the state championship signs that you see around the perimeter of the fence surrounding the track. This person has designed and helped build the new discus ring and net. He has helped to run countless track meets and cross-country meets at West Holt H.S. as well as volunteering to be meet referee at most ALL track meets at West Holt H.S. and many other area schools. This person has designed and built the current runways and competition pits. He solely developed and updates the West Holt Track History Book with all proceeds going directly back to West Holt Track and Field. At the community level, this individual has been instrumental in raising funds and designing the new community library and the sign board down by the highway. He, along with wife Maxine, have co-chaired the local community blood drive and raising funds for the American Cancer Society. He is also a member of the West Holt Foundation Board. While these are many of the contributions to West Holt H.S. and the community of Atkinson, there are still many I am sure we have missed. As a former coach he has earned the: 1993 - Binnie & Dutch Track and Field Coach award 2000 - 2000 - Northeast Joe Skrdla, a current school board member and former 4 x 400 state champion at West Holt presented the award. Please join me in thanking Roger for his many. many hours and yrs. of patronage to West Holt H.S. and the Atkinson Community, and the sport of track and field. THANKS ROGER."
